BUCKEYE 50 DRAFT COVERAGE - 2008
First Round - Vernon Gholston - Would-be Senior Defensive End Vernon Gholston showed that he made a good choice to leave a year early as he was selected in the 1st round. The New York Jets picked up Gholston with the 6th pick overall.
Seventh Round - Larry Grant - Larry Grant spent two years at San Francisco City College, before joining the Buckeyes. Now he is returning the the Bay area as the 49er's selected him in the seventh round.
Seventh Round - Kirk Barton - OSU's 4-year starter wanted a log time but was selected in the last round by the Chicago Bears. He was picked with the 247th overall pick, when there were only 5 selections remaining. But now it will be about making the team, not where he was picked.
Free Agents - Dionte Johnson & Tyler Whaley - Dionte Johnson was offered a tryout with the Arizona Cardinals, and Tyler Whaley will be trying out with the Cincinnati Bengals.
