Buckeyes Get Commitment From Ohio Running Back
April 19, 2015

Urban Meyer earned a commitment from RB Todd Sibley for the 2017 class.

Sibley is a 5' 9", 203 lbs running back from Hoban high school in Akron.  This is the second player from Hoban in this class for the Buckeyes.  Previously his quarterback Danny Clark provided his verbal commit to OSU back in 2013.  Sibley was coming off an unofficial visit this past weekend.  He also had reported offers from Akron, Kentucky and Michigan.

He becomes the 6th name for the Ohio State class of 2017.

Meyer Parlays Championship Into More Recruiting Success
January 25, 2015

As Mel Brooks says in History of the World - Part I "It's Good To Be the King!"

Reports on the Internet are indicating that another big commitment has rolled in for Ohio State, this time for the of class of 2017.   Miamisburg offensive lineman Josh Myers, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect has been one of the nation's most highly recruited sophomores and is ending the search and going with the Buckeyes.

"In the end I just felt in my heart that it was where i wanted to be," said Myers. "It's such a family place and I have a great relationship with the coaches. It just felt right."

Myers had offers from Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Tennessee but it appears he preferred to stay close to home which is fortunate for the Buckeyes.  During the process, Myers has become particularly close with fellow class of 2017 Ohio State pledge Danny Clark, who actually committed last year as a freshman.  Clark may become our best QB recruiter since Justin Zwick in 2001.

Myers should be high in the discussion for Ohio's top prospect when recruiting sites officially start ranking the class of 2017. He is the fourth class of 2017 Ohio State pledge joining Clark, and Florida stars Bruce Judson and Shaun Wade.
