Ever wonder what happened to the players Ohio State didn't get?  Here is a look at some of the top recruits, either from Ohio or ones that OSU worked to sign.  We can not get them all!

David Abdul – Massillon Washington (OH) kicker had some academic question marks and did not get an offer from OSU.  Took Pittsburgh up on their offer.  Has had an up and down career as Pitt’s kicker and is recovering from a broken leg in the off-season.

Victor Abiermi – OSU was in the hunt for and offered this Maryland phenom, but Abiermi ended up at ND and should be a star very soon at DE for the Irish.  Started 7 games as a true freshman for Notre Dame last season.

Chase Anastasio - The Buckeyes offered this WR/DB from Virginia to be part of the 2003 class, but Anastasio chose ND.  Anastasio redshirted last year for the Irish and has not yet cracked the two-deep at WR.

Chad Anderson – Canton McKinley (OH) product never received an offer from OSU, but did from Kentucky.  He led the SEC in tackles per game (11.4) last season.  Anderson will be a junior and will again start at ILB this season.

Bryan Andrews – Lima (OH) product looks like he has earned a starting DE job for Wake Forrest this year.  OSU was thought to have offered Andrews but an apparent disagreement with Andrews’ mom ended up ruling OSU out and helped send Andrews to Wake Forrest.  Started 2 games last year at DE as a redshirt freshman.

Robert Armstrong - This D-lineman from Fork Union Military Academy considered an offer from OSU, but chose Maryland instead.  Armstrong played as a true freshman (off the bench) last year, but projects as a starter at defensive tackle for the Terrapins this year.

Sam Baker - Baker is now a redshirt freshman and projected starter at left tackle for Southern Cal this year.  OSU had offered Baker a scholarship to be part of the 2003 class and the coaches made an in-home visit to Baker in December 2002, but it wasn't meant to be.

Brandon Barrett – Highly touted WR may have had an offer open from OSU at one point, but committed to West Virginia to enroll in 2004.  Some talk says that Barrett may not qualify academically.

Michael Bush – Buckeye recruiting fanatics thought it was a done deal with the versatile Bush coming to OSU, but Bush opted for Louisville (over an offer from OSU and others) and has played all over the field for the Cardinals.  Looks to be in a crowded tailback mix this fall, but could play somewhere else on the field.

Bryan Cupito – This Cincinnati QB prospect wasn’t offered by OSU and will be the new starting QB at Minnesota this fall after serving as the Gophers 3rd team QB last year.

Fred Davis - The Toledo (OH) product chose Southern Cal late in the process this past January and enrolled in time to play spring ball.  Reports say that Davis had a rough go at it this spring, but he still could be in the mix at WR for So Cal this fall with eligibility questions surrounding a few WR's.

Tyrell Dortch – The Hoboken, NJ product was thought to be leaning OSU’s way at one point in the recruiting process, but ended up at Michigan State.  Dortch has been moved from running back to the “bandit” (hybrid of an LB and a safety) position this year.

Jeremiah Drobney – This Massillon Washington (OH) product has started 6 games at Kentucky and is the #1 TE heading into his junior season.  Was not recruited by OSU.

Matt Turner – This Kirkland (OH) product was not really pursued by OSU, but has started 19 games over the last two seasons and projects as Purdue’s starting LG this season.

Demarkus "Tank" Tyler - OSU offered and received a visit from Tyler in late 2002, but lost out to NC State.  Tyler played last year as a true freshman and is 2nd team on the current Wolfpack depth chart at DT.

Justin Valentin – Many thought OSU would offer this TB who hails from Columbus, but the offer never came and Valentine ended up at Minnesota.  He is expected to start at FB this fall.  Valentin redshirted last season and will be a freshman, eligibility wise, this fall.

Steve Vallos – Youngstown (OH) product didn’t get much of a look from OSU but started every game at right guard as a redshirt freshman last year for Wake Forrest.  Projects to start at right tackle this season.

Jo Jo Walker - This defensive back from Texas had an offer from OSU to be part of the 2002 class, but ended up choosing Maryland.  Now a second team WR for the Terrapins.  Caught 23 balls last year, Jo Jo's sophomore season.

Al Washington – Ohio State definitely looked at Washington (Columbus Watterson H.S.) but did not offer.  Washington’s old man was a Buckeye and played in the NFL.  Looks like Washington has earned a starting job at DT for Boston College this year.

Richard Washington – Verbally committed to OSU, but ended up signing with NC State.  Had teammates call him ROY (for rookie of the year) before he played a down for the Wolfpack.  Projected starter at WR for NC State this year.  Tune in on September 18th.

Ashton Watson – This Huber Heights Wayne (OH) product may or may not had an OSU offer on the table when he committed to Michigan State.  He has started before and could again be a starter at cornerback for the Spartans this year.

Gabe Watson – This mammoth DT chose to stay in state and attend Michigan after entertaining OSU’s scholarship offer.  Watson will start at DT for UM this year after being a regular in the D-line rotation last year.

Ernie Wheelright – This multi-talented WR lit up the Ohio All-Star game a year ago.  Grades likely kept him out of Ohio State.  Last we heard, Wheelright was still battling academics in an effort to be a Gopher this fall.

Kyle Williams – OSU thought they were the school to beat for a while, but this true-freshman-to-be stud linebacker will be a Hawkeye next month.

Mario Williams – Super Mario had OSU on his list for a while, but ended up starting as a true-frosh at NC State last year.  Look for OSU’s tackles trying to keep this beast out of the backfield on September 18th.

Miles Williams - this Austintown athlete/WR verbally committed to OSU, but was later told that OSU could not guarantee his admittance into the University.  WIlliams will enroll at Michigan State this fall.  He had an excellent performance in the North-South Ohio All-Star game.

Cyrim Wymbs - OSU offered and got Florida native Cyrim Wymbs to schedule a visit, but it never happened.  Wymbs committed to Miami (FL).  He redshirted last year as a frosh, but is the heir apparent to Eric Winston at LT for the 'Canes.

Eric Winston – Blue-chip TE was once recruited hard by the Buckeyes and is now one of the premier left tackles in the nation for the Miami Hurricanes.

Anthony Wollschlager - This mammoth O-lineman from Ft. Lauderdale liked OSU and had an offer from the Buckeyes.  But in the end, Miami won out and Wollschlager is now the #2 center for the Hurricanes heading into this, his sophomore season.

Lamarr Woodley – OSU might have had a small chance of landing this star DE out of Michigan, but couldn’t pull it off.  Woodley is about to hit stardom for the Wolverines.

Pierre Woods – One of the few Cleveland Glennville prospects that eluded the Buckeyes.  Woods is making a name for himself now as a starting LB for Michigan.

DeShaun Wynn – Did Maurice Clarett scare this Cincinnati TB away from OSU.  Did OSU want Wynn as a safety?  Whatever the reason, Wynn should get plenty of carries as sophomore this year at Florida, the school he chose over OSU.  Ran for over 500 yards last year as a redshirt freshman.

Vincent Young – OSU, along with everyone else, loved this QB/WR phenom out of Texas, but didn’t get much more than a look.  Young is about to become a major superstar at QB for Texas.
