Rivalry Renewed - Get That Blue Our of Here
August 24, 2013 5:45 PM
Today, Woody is looking down and he is smiling. After all, it was Coach Hayes that would not buy gas above Toledo and would only make reference to that 'team up north'. Coach Hoke gets it, and so does Urban.
Clothes resembling the colors of rival Michigan are not welcome while coach Urban Meyer has a say, no matter if the offenders are fans, media members, or, reportedly, NFL scouts. According to reports on ESPN.com, at least two NFL scouts who wore blue while observing Ohio State at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center were told to change their shirts.
Staffers informed the scouts of Meyer's rule and some Buckeyes players even yelled at the scouts, according to the report. The scouts were given Ohio State shirts to wear.
Wide Receiver Down For the Season

Ohio State is not the only B1G suffering player losses. Michigan wide receiver Amara Darboh will be sitting out 2013.
Brady Hoke announced Darboh will miss the 2013 season with a foot injury. He saw limited action on special teams last season, but had worked his way into the starting rotation this year. The Wolverines do return Jeremy Gallon, who led the team in both receptions and receiving yards last year, and Drew Dileo. There’s plenty of young talent ready to step up too, but losing a projected starter hurts no matter the experience.
Michigan averaged just 199.3 passing yards a game last season and is hoping new starting QB Devin Gardner can lead a more balanced offense. However, the wide receiver spot will need to step it up if those numbers are to improve.
Michigan Defensive Star Injures ACL

There is always a question as to just how much contact there should be during spring drills.
It is never too much contact until someone gets hurt and now someone is hurt for the Wolverines. Brett McMurphy of ESPN has reported that linebacker Jake Ryan has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the spring, and possibly the entire season.
Ryan may have been the best defensive player on the Michigan roster. Las year he led the team with 88 tackles, racked up five sacks and produced 16.5 tackles for loss, while breaking up three passes as well. He earned All-Big Ten Conference second-team honors and put him in the national spotlight as well.
With Ryan's injury, it will likely be a battle between senior Cameron Gordon and redshirt-freshman Kaleb Ringer for the starting position.
